Yakuzi - Thin Red Line

"Trompetenpunk" haben sich die sechs Jungs aus Pforzheim auf die Fahnen geschrieben, und damit auch einen durchaus passenden Begriff gefunden. Der Stil der Band ist einfach eine Spur zu sehr straighter Punkrock, um noch als Ska durchzugehen, Trompete und Posaune heben den Sound aber doch recht erfolgreich vom Punkrock-Einheitsbrei ab. Der Sound ist wie bereits gesagt zwar recht rockig, ist aber dennoch keine schwere Kost und ich könnte mir durchaus vorstellen, einen der 14 Songs mal im Radio zu hören, da eigentlich alle über einen hymnenhaften Mitsing-Charakter verfügen. Damit möchte ich Yakuzi aber nicht als pure Spaßmusik abtun, denn textlich ist durchaus eine gesunde Portion Sozialkritik zu finden, die musikalisch offensiv angegangen wird ohne dabei aber verkniffen und allzu frustriert zu wirken.
Yakuzi schafft es auf dem Album eine gewisse "es-ist-nicht-alles-schön-aber-wir-feiern-trotzdem"-Attitüde zu verstrahlen, die mir ganz gut gefällt. Vielleicht ist das der "schmale Grat"? Der schmale Grat zwischen belangloser Massenware und ehrlichem, aber konsumfreundlichem Punkrock? Ob der Gang auf diesem Grat gelingt, ist letztendlich nicht eindeutig zu klären. Die Scheibe macht durchaus Spaß und wird sicherlich gerade wenn wärmere Tage kommen, ihre Stärken ausspielen können. Andererseits tut sie aber eben auch niemandem wirklich weh und wirkt auf mich doch eine Spur zu harmlos.
Alles in Allem ist "Thin Red Line", die dritte Veröffentlichung seit Bestehen der Band 2001, ein wirklich solides Stück Punkrock mit interessanter Note, das zurecht seine Anhänger finden (bzw. behalten) wird.
