Nach dem 2007er Album "Tales Don't Tell Themselves" legen die Waliser dieses Jahr noch mal einen nach. Um einges gereifter präsentieren sich FFAF auf dem neuen Album "Memory and Humanity".
Der Opener "Rules and Games" besticht direkt durch verdammt gutes Rock-Riffing und einen Hammer als Refrain. Und das Level des Openers wird das gesamte Album durchgehalten. Neben den für FFAF üblichen Abgeh-Nummern findet sich auch eine wunderbare Perle zum Kuscheln auf der Platte. Anspieltipp für den gemütlichen Abend mit dem Geschlechtspartner seiner Wahl: "BULIDING"
Soundtechnisch nicht ganz so glattgebügelt wie auf dem letzten Album erinnert das Gesamtwerk vom Sound eher an das 2005er Album "Hours2, allerdings mit besseren Songs. Ob das nun Rock, Metal, Hardcore, Pop oder sonst was ist, die Jungs nennen es selber "Whatever-Core"
. Und das trifft´s eigentlich am Besten. "To Die Like Mouchette", "Kicking and Screaming" oder auch "Maybe I Am?" bestechen durch grandiose Gitarren- und Gesangslinien, die FFAF bestimmt einen großen Schritt weiter in Richtung Rock-/Metal-/Core-/Whatever-Olymp bringen werden.
Prädikat: Auch für Freunde des härteren Metalls durchaus geeignet!
