Wirtz - Erdling

Schon wieder eine Platte von Stephan Weidner, ach nein das ist ja Daniel Wirtz der da mit ernstem Gesicht von seinem Plattencover schaut. Und der Verglich mit dem Ex-Onkelz Frontmann ist sicher berechtigt aber nicht ganz fair. Wirtz ist Wirtz und nicht Weidner. Dass er seinen ganz eigenen Stil gefunden hat bewies er schon auf seinem Debütalbum „11 Zeugen“ und genau dort knüpft er mir „Erdling“ nun an.
Die Mischung aus harmonischen Akustikgitarren und dem drückenden Sound einer Nu Metal Band der 90er passt wie die Faust aufs Auge zu Daniels markant rauer Stimme. Textlich bewegt er sich erneut, wie schon beim Vorgänger, alleine auf der Bühne einer Seelenstripteasebar. Emotional, ehrlich und authentisch ohne ins kitschige abzurutschen, was bei den deutschen Rockgruppen dieses Landes gerne passiert. Der Opener „Im freien Fall“ bringt er das ganze recht schlüssig auf den Punkt: „Unprätentiös und direkt, Wirtz in reinster Form“.
Das Bemerkenswerteste der Platte ist wohl das Potential jedes einzelnen Liedes zur Poprock-Hymne. Ob nun das groovige „Geschichten ohne Sieger“ oder das eher ruhig startende „Anderer Stern“, spätestens im Refrain zwingt Wirtz und seine Bandkollegen den Hörer zum Kopfnicken und mitsummen. Das folgende „Meinen Namen“ räumt dann jede Skepsis aus ob sich auch der Besuch eines Konzert Jungs lohnen könnte. Das Lied ist regelrecht dafür geschrieben, Konzerte in engen Clubs zu eröffnen und Schweißgeruch zu erzeugen.
„Lass mich los“ und „Meilenweit“ sind zwei solide Nummern, die aber im Vergleich zu den Schwächeren der Platte gehören. Doch danach geht es wieder stark weiter. Mit „Scherben“ erreichen wir einen der Höhepunkte von „Erdling“. Er wird fast philosophisch bei der Analyse des Lebens und der Feststellung, dass man sich eben nur „temporär bescheißen kann“.
Mit „L.M.A.A.“ wird dann auch deutlich woher die Vergleiche mit den Egotriphymnen der Bösen Onkelz stammen. Nach feinster Manier wird einfach mal darauf gesch…pfiffen, was der Rest der Welt von der Platte hält und stattdessen kräftig gerockt. An Sich kann es sich Daniel Wirtz auch erlauben. Mit seinem eigens gegründeten Label Wirtz Musik und einem Produzenten der auch gleichzeitig Gitarist der Band ist, hat er so ziemlich alle Fäden in der Hand und ist völlig unabhängig von Majordeals und Promobossen.
Das massiv drückende „Kugel Kopf & Eins im Sinn“ könnte auch ohne Probleme von US-Größen wie den Deftones oder Creed stammen. Dabei wird auch die Lupenreine und trotzdem druckvolle Produktion der Platte deutlich. Produzent Matthias Hoffmann hat ganze Arbeit geleistet.
Der letzte Track der Platte könnte mit Nada Brahma nicht besser gewählt sein. Bei Nadabrahma handelt es sich um eine Form der aktiven Meditation bei der sich der Meditierende in etwa 60 Minuten durch verschiedene Phasen bewegt im Körper und Geist zu harmonisieren. Ob „Erdling“ mit einer Spielzeit von etwa einer Stunde genau das mit seinen Hörern vorhat kann man nur vermuten, aber beim Ausklang des letzten Akkords macht sich sicher bei vielen ein verdammt gutes Gefühl breit.
