Rollin' Dice und Smokestack Lightnin' im Hamburger Headcrash
Rollin Dice als Support für Smokestack Lightnin? Auf den ersten Blick eine äußerst kuriose Angelegenheit, da Rollin Dice wesentlich härter zur Sache gehen, als die Country-Boys von Smokestack Lightnin.
Gitarrist Rob konnte aber zur Klärung beitragen: Beide Bands sind mittlerweile bei Rodrecords unter Vertrag und so kam es zu diesem ungewöhnlichen Billing.
Bereits um 20.30 Uhr startete das Konzert für Hamburger Verhältnisse recht früh. Die Jungs von Rollin Dice aus Hamburg/Berlin enterten die Bühne und legten mit "Godfather" los. Das Publikum war zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch recht übersichtlich, aber während des knapp 50 minütigen Gigs füllte sich der Laden nach und nach. Der Sound im kleinen Headcrash war nicht der Beste, aber das tat der Stimmung keinen Abbruch. Hellvis (Mad Sin) poste über die Bühne, sprang ins Publikum, um mit zwei Mädels zu tanzen und verbrachte den größten Teil des letzten Songs vor der Bühne!
Insgesamt zockten Rollin Dice 12 Songs, wobei "Rollin Dice", "Best Friend" und "Run Fat Boy Run" meine Favoriten waren. Nach dem Gig forderte der Pöbel nach weiteren Zugaben, aber "Run Fat Boy Run" sollte der letzte Song gewesen sein. Vermutlich lag es am straffen Zeitplan, daß es keine weiteren Songs gab.
Jetzt wird es wirklich Zeit für die erste CD/LP, die hoffentlich bis Mai erscheinen wird!
Zu Smokestack Lightnin kann ich nicht mehr viel sagen, da ich bereits in Partylaune war ("...my best friend is alcohol...")! Auf jeden Fall haben sie ihre Sache gut gemacht und das Publikum ging richtig ab. In Erinnerung ist mir der Song "The Unknown Stuntman" geblieben... ja,ja, ich sag nur "Ein Colt für alle Fälle".... Bela B. (Die Ärzte) war ebenfalls anwesend und verriet mir, daß er Fan von Smokestack Lightnin ist, seiner Ansicht nach Deutschlands beste Country-Band! Später lud der Hauptact ins King Calavera zur Aftershow Party (jeder war willkommen). Das war doch mal 'ne nette Sache und einige Fans folgten dem Ruf der Cowboys......
